NOT WAVING & ROMANCE

WINGS OF DESIRE

Following the atmospheric explorations of Infinite Light and Eyes of Fate, Not Waving and Romance return with Wings of Desire. Inspired by Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, this album invites listeners into a world of beauty and introspection, where subtle shifts reveal the deeper layers of the soul.

The opening track, “Shepherd’s Dream,” sets a serene and dreamlike tone, wrapping the listener in a soft haze. Strings shimmer like sunlight in mist, accompanied by ethereal vocals that rise and fall gently.

As the album progresses, “From The Weary Earth To The Sapphire Walls” becomes a highlight, blending intricate loops and haunting choral elements. This rich soundscape evokes the grandeur of a cathedral while maintaining a sense of intimacy and vulnerability.

“Everybody Hurts” offers a tender reverie, mixing poignant strings with soft ambiance. It captures the fleeting nature of joy, reminding us that beauty can often be transient and elusive.

Closing with “Over The Sea Of Death,” the album culminates in a wave of distorted reverb and haunting harmonies, where dissonance and beauty intertwine. This track signifies the soul’s journey into the afterlife, delivering a farewell that is both desperate and uplifting, echoing the experiences that came before.

Wings of Desire is a profound reflection on longing and the fleeting nature of life. Not Waving and Romance have created a work that resonates with what it means to be human—an exploration of the moments that shape us, however brief they may be.
